Alyssa Burnette began Suzuki piano study at age four with Roberta Honadle in Rochester, New York. She continued her studies at the Eastman School of Music with Howard Spindler and received the Howard Hanson Award.
She earned a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Carson-Newman University, where she received the Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award, and a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Tennessee, studying with David Northington.
Alyssa completed Suzuki teacher training with Mary Craig Powell and Fay Adams. She has served as a pianist and piano instructor at Augusta State University, Carson-Newman University, and the University of South Carolina and has taught Suzuki piano since 2002.
She and her husband, Ben, are the parents of Chase and Karli.
